About New Vision Centre
Who are we?
NewVision is a community-based organization (CBO) in Cairo, Egypt that operates within Refugees and migrant communities in Cairo. The organization is run and managed by Refugees with a mission to create a supportive and inclusive environment for Refugee communities in Egypt.
​Educational: adult education is open to provide educational services to our communities in Ain Shams – Cairo. Most of our teachers are volunteers from our communities. Our aim is to offer classes to develop proper skills including:
English language: we focus on basic levels to improve writing, reading, and speaking.
IT Classes – include basic computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint, introduction to internet, Google chrome and Gmail).
Arabic: we have an Arabic literacy course for adults who want to read and write the Arabic language.
Handicraft: this activity is designed for women and girls in New Vision we prepare materials for this activity and women to create accessories.
Legal service: provide advice for newcomers to facilitate the registration process with the UNHCR through workshop sessions.
Physical social services: Refugees face challenges in the host communities, including language difficulties, acculturative stress, societal prejudice, and loneliness that jeopardize their integration. They have been exposed to violent conflicts and acute traumatic incidents, social support has the potential to decrease refugees’ isolation and loneliness, enhance their sense of belonging and life fulfilment, mediate the stress of discrimination and facilitate integration into a new society. Differences among refugees reinforce the need to elucidate the role of ethnicity in the design of culturally relevant social support interventions. New Vision has a multi-ethnic group of staff and volunteers that are able to work with different communities to raise awareness within the community .provide sharing information about service providers how to approach them. Support them to improve their life skills.
New Vision is a Safety space for children and women for their activities and sharing opinions about their role in the community.
New Vision work to assist refugees vulnerable and who face difficulties in meeting their basic needs by referring them to the service providers or help them in how to approach the services.
In medical cases, we provide the essential information and connect the clients with medical service providers.
